Adam opened his eyes and pulled the blanket covers up to his chin. He stared around his room, searching for darkness for the thing that was making those scary sounds. The closet door moved as something banged on it from the inside.

"Who's there?" Adam asked in a shaky voice.

The closet slowly began to open. Adam jumped out of bed and ran to the closet door, slamming it shut with his palms. Then, he ran out of his room and down the hall to his brother's room.

"Adam?" David yawned and asked in a groggy voice. "What are you doing in here?"

Adam tugged on David's arm. "There's something in my closet!"

David signed. He had worked hard preparing for his examinations and needed to rest. However, he decided to help his brother. He reached into his desk drawer and pulled out of torchlight. They then headed to Adam's room. Adam stopped suddenly in the doorway. He had heard the same scratching sound against his closet door.

"Do you hear that?" Adam asked.

David nodded. He walked over to Adam's bed and pulled the case off one of the pillows. He held the mouth of the pillowcase open.

"Open the door Adam, and I'll grab whatever it it."

Adam took a deep breath and flung the door wide open. A small furry creature ran right into the pillowcase.

David put the pillowcse on the bed and an orange cat climbed out. Adam scooped the cat up.

"Apricot? How did you get trapped in my closet?" David laughed. "The poor cat. If I was trapped in your closet with your stinky shoes, I'd be banging on the door to get out too!"

The Sembawang Park, with a spectacular view overseeing the sea of water, was a hit among campers and it was the Lee family's favourite campsite.

A little rumble was heard coming from Tom's stomach. Embarrassed, he lowered his head and spoke softly, "I need more noodles as I am still hungry." His mum smiled and began preparing a bowl of instant noodles for him.

As Tom waited patiently for his snack to be ready, he suddenly exclaimed, "I saw something yellow fly by! Is that a ghost?" He hugged his mother tightly. Jane trembled and her face turned pale.

While Mother put her arms round the two frightened children, Dad went to investigate. He returned with a reassuring smile and said, "That strange yellow light is actually..." Slowly, he lifted his hands and a gleam of yellow luminous light lit the darkness. The light seemed to have a life of its own and flew high into the night sky.

"A firefly!" Tom and Jane quipped excitedly.
