Abby and Stephanie were waiting eagerly for the weekend to arrive as their parents had promised to give them a big surprise. The girls had worked very hard in school and had done well in their examination. Mr Tan, their father, wanted to reward the girls with a fresh new experience. The girls tried to get their father to reveal the surprise, but he was simply too tight-lipped. While their mother, Mrs Tan, knew about the surprise all along, she kept it from them too.

Finally, the Saturday morning that they had been waiting for arrived! Everyone hopped into their family car. The girls were excited and were still trying to figure out what or where the surprise would be. They passed Song Shu Kang Road. Stephanie's eyes grew wider.

A few minutes later, the family arrived at a big field above a slope. Getting out of the car, the girls shrieked with joy. "A farm house!" they cried.

The girls were thrilled to see dogs, goats, horses, sheep, hamsters and even geese! They also spotted an iguana in a big cage. They walked the dogs and played with the rabbits. The best part was when the girls fed the mountain goats. The goats were simply adorable!

It was a wonderful outing and the girls enjoyed it. They thanked their parents and promised to work harder for their coming examination.

Passengers on Flight 555 had just taken their lunch when they heard a deafening sound and jolted from their seats. A number of luggage bags fell from the overhead compartments. A sense of fear began to grow among the passengers. They looked at one another with panic and worried eyes.

A few seconds later, Captain Waine's voice came over the speaker, breaking the news that one of the plane's engines had exploded. In a calm voice, he explained that the plane had three engines and only needed one to keep it going, so there was no cause for alarm.

A long sigh of relief could be heard from the long rows of passengers. Some even cried and hugged their family members. Just as they thought the worst was over, they felt another jolt and the plane seemed to steer sideways.

Captain Waine realised that the explosion had destroyed the plane's hydraulic system. So he could not control the plane properly. With his great experience, he managed to steer the plane and landed in an open field near a plantation village. The plane hit the ground twice and crashed sideways. People working in the field feared for the worst.

Soon, there was a loud cheer when passengers started to come out of the plane.
