Section H

Read the passage below and answer questions 1 to 5.

A long time ago, there lived an old couple in a tiny village. The old man was a very skilful craftsman. He would make tiny wooden toys with very simple tools and display the wooden toys in his shop.

However, no one from the village would visit their small, rundown shop to buy their toys. The children in the village would rather play with modern toys bought from the newer and bigger stores. The old man did not know this and soon, the old couple fell on hard times. They had not made a sale in weeks so the old man cleaned up his shop windows as he thought that customers could not see the toys through the dirty windows. He also showcased his nicest toys outside the shop.

Then, something strange happened. All the toys outside his shop disappeared. He put more toys outside and watched from his window. Soon, he saw some tiny elves carrying the toys away. He caught two of the elves. The elves begged to be released and promised him a bag of gold if he gave them all this toys. The old man gave them all his toys very willingly.
