One day, while the farmer was away, Dan killed the rooster. "I can sleep longer now," he thought to himself. The farmer returned and found the rooster dead. He buried it sadly. The farmer was afraid that Dan might oversleep, so he woke Dan at four o'clock in the morning.

In the end, Dan realised that he had made an awful mistake by killing the rooster. He was angry with himself.
