The Queen ant woke up to a warm summer's day. In a few months' time, winter would arrive. Her army of ants had been working hard to collect food for the winter. However, there was still a shortage of food.

The Queen ordered her soldiers ants to work day and night without resting for the next few weeks. Since all her soldier ants were strong and well-trained, they obeyed her and did their best. However, a young soldier ant, Sam, refused to work. He thought to himself, "Why don't I just rest since there are so many other ants working for the Queen?"
